On 16 September last year, Chloe Swarbrick held a fundraising event for her election campaign. Advertising stated “Raising funds for her campaign to remain in the seat of Auckland Central, Green Party MP Chlöe Swarbrick will dress as both a drag king and queen at tomorrow night’s Drag For Democracy event happening at K Road’s Neck Of The Woods.”
In promotional material posted on Swarbrick’s Instagram account there is a promoter’s statement at the bottom in unbelievably small font.
On similar posts made by the venue Neck of the Woods, the promoter statement is absent. Darleen Tana and the magazine publisher are still under investigation for a paid advertisement that appeared in Verve magazine before the election without a promoter statement.
Swarbrick’s election return doesn’t disclose any funds donated from the event although they could have been recorded on the Green Party return?
The obfuscation continues…
