Last weekend we once again were treated to a real MSM gem – another story blowing smoke up Golriz’s shoplifting ass.
By our count, that is story number 5 on the “woe is GG” reach around.
Last weekend’s portrayal was in some ways fascinating (mostly nauseating), not only because of the local media interest in making her out to be hard done by and the victim, but also the comments and narrative surrounding Marilyn Sainty – one of the owners of Scotties Boutique.
But, first let’s look at the “anatomy of a thief”, Golriz Ghaharaman.
Its all quite curious really – here is why.
Scotties Boutique is hardly mainstream, its hardly main street, in fact it’s well off the beaten track. Only those in the know, know as they say. It’s high end. Destination retail.
We checked out Scotties and noticed that many of the items had no security tags on them. Did GG know this? We know GG had 2 goes at filling her tote bag.
Speaking of her tote bag, was that part of her 5 finger discount shopping attire? Like an empty Santa sack ready to be filled with goodies.
Back to Sainty… just another bizarre cog in the bewildering narrative. None of which we are buying.
According to the NZ Herald story, Sainty gave her support to Ghahraman, and went on to say that “she (Sainty) thought that she (Ghaharman) had done a wonderful job in parliament but regrettably the Police were involved”.
We would be keen to hear exactly what wonderful work Ms Sainty is referring to.
If it was not for this blog, the criminal offending of Golriz Ghaharaman would have likely continued.
How is it regrettable the Police were involved? We can tell you that before this blog got the tip, Scotties were trying to cover it up. Likely because Ms Sainty is a Green Party supporter. Fancy a retailer turning a blind eye to a serious shoplifting incident in their own store.
According to the NZ Herald article the meeting ended on good terms and “Marilyn and Golriz had a hug”. How sweet – I wonder if all retailers should hug those who steal from them, which by the way is about a $1.8b a year problem.
Back to the headline if the story …. “Why did Golriz not steal from K Mart?” – The answer is simple in our view. She deliberately targeted Scotties Boutique as this was not her first rodeo.
