Over the weekend talking with various people of different walks of life, one thing became apparent when talking politics.
There is a deep dissatisfaction with our PM, Christopher Luxon.
He’s just not resonating with the voters. His social media is boring and tiresome, and many believe his judgement is clouded by his religious beliefs.
It’s hard to argue any of those points.
One thing for us sticks out – Luxon has allowed the left to stay in the game so to speak.
Luxon’s “Mr Nice Guy” approach has cost National votes.
National had the upper hand big time after the last election , and swing voters should have been a very easy target to grow the right leaning voter base.
However that’s just not happened.
Instead NZ First, and more so Act have now grabbed some of National’s voter base to make their own.
Luxon had a perfect opportunity to hammer home the dire situation that Labour left this country in after 6 years of crazy spending and Covid brainwashing, however it seems Chris Hipkins has managed to firm up those who may have turned their backs on Labour, as he’s having some success blaming National for the struggling economy.
The National Party strategy will cost them dearly at the next election.
The bigger problem is that there is still a real chance of total disaster for NZ if Labour pulled off an election win with the help of TPM and The Greens.
Act now has a battle on its hands with the Tim Jago fiasco, and just who knew what and when – that poorly managed revolting mess will surely dog David Seymour for years to come.
Winston Peters of course is waiting in the wings with Shane Jones.
Was it a perfect play by Winston to take the first stint as Deputy PM? It looks very much so.
Our pick is for Winston Peters to take the reins with Shane Jones as his deputy.
When will Luxon go? We think before the end of this year.
Let’s see.
